About R.S Lane Panel & Paint
Established in 1963, R.S Lane is one of the longest standing panel shops in Wellington, New Zealand.
Located on Sydney Street in Petone, Lower Hutt, Porirua and Tawa, our mission is to bring a remarkable experience to every person, one panel, one vehicle and one neighbourhood at a time.

Our history
Before R.S Lane’s current sites in Petone were transformed into what they are today, the Structural Repair site was used as a large storage facility for tyres in the 1950s, while the Rapid Repair Centre across the road was built and used by Peter Baker Transport in the 80s.
In 1955, Bob Lane started off as an apprentice at the local panelbeater and by 1962 he had worked his way up to partner and took over the business. He renamed the panel shop to R.S Lane Panel & Paint, which he ran for 61 years before retiring in 2016.
Today, R.S Lane is owned by Mike Bradley, who has worked at the panel shop since 2009 and took over from Bob in 2016. Mike is committed to providing an exceptional experience to people needing help with their vehicles, while ensuring the personal and professional goals of each employee are reached.
On 15 February 2021 R.S Lane opened a new branch in Kenepuru, Porirua.
